Kroupwood Co was established in 2004 to serve the growing demand from abroad for Zambian hardwood products. The company has grown from an exporter of processed timber into the leading manufacturer of hardwood products such as solid doors, flooring, decking, mouldings, etc. The factory occupies over 6,000sqm in the Light Industrial Area of Lusaka and employs over 200 people directly and indirectly in Lusaka and the Western Province, where the majority of the timber is sourced.

Kroup Mining & Processing was established in 2008 with the idea to produce top quality products from Zambia’s number one commodity, Copper. The manufacturing plant is situated in Solwezi, North Western Province and is expected to be commissioned in 2016, after which pure LME-grade copper cathodes will be produced from locally sourced copper ore. Expansion plans include further processing of the end product into copper products such as cables and other related items.

Micmar ventured into property development in 2010. Our first project was an office complex called Trinity Office Park in the Mass Media area of Lusaka. This comprised of approximately 3200sqm of modern office space with high profile, grade A tenants such as Ernst &Young, JTI and Mopani Copper Mines. This successful project led to a bigger modern office complex along Great East Rd in Lusaka called Pangaea Office Park, where approximately 10,000 sqm was built for office space rental purposes. Again the quality of the project attracted highly reputable firms such as Huawei, Hollard Insurance, Focus Financial Group, Pangaea Securities and Hai Telecom amongst others. Other projects in the pipeline include a mixed-use development of over 17,000 sqm in Lusaka as well as a shopping mall in Solwezi offering over 9,000 sqm of retail space.
